V FESTIVAL 2013

I have recently just come back from V fest in Weston Park and it was genuinely one of the best weekends of my life so far. Not only was the weekend so good due to the music but also because of the people I went with, I always find that when you're with the right people, you'll have a good time regardless.

Anyway we started off by seeing the end of The Saturdays who were pretty good, they got the crowd going I guess, especially with their last song, All Fired Up, although I have seen them live a few times so it wasn't that special for me. Scouting For Girls followed them who were very good, even though I personally didn't know all the songs they performed, I still had a great time as they know how to put on a show. But I have to say the highlights of my weekend were definitely McFly, Calvin Harris, Jessie J and Two Door Cinema Club.

Okay, McFly are my favourite band and I've seen them live many times but I'm not being biased when I say that they are AMAZING live. They genuinely know how to put on a good show and they really get the crowd going. Even my friends who aren't massive fans who came said so too, they never seize to amaze anyone and their performance is always flawless! Not forgetting they're hilarious and hot ;)

Calvin Harris was just immense. Everyone was dancing all the way through it and aaah it was just crazy, if I could I would relive this night again, SO GOOD, would definitely tell someone to go and see him if they had the chance too, so not worth missing. The lasers and fireworks and the atmosphere from everyone in general just made it even more amazing tbh.

Right so the big amazing headliner, Beyonce, Queen B. First of all we had been in the crowd for over 6 hours so everyone was in agony at this point with aching feet and backs (not even joking we had to make a circle in the crowd to bend our backs to relieve the pain a bit omg) and we had been through hell with some of the people around us as they were so rowdy and kept creating mosh pits and this one girl (who looked like 12) was too drunk and threw up next to me which was horrible considering I have a bloody phobia of sick, but anyway whilst that was all going on Beyonce thought it would be fab to come on stage 40 MINUTES LATE, I was so not happy with this but I thought it's okay, cause when she comes on stage it will be worth it cause she's like a God. Buuuut turns out this wasn't really very true, when she did come on stage she basically did a set you would do on tour, definitely not at a festival. She had like 5 costume changes so kept giving the crowd intervals which obviously did not help with the whole pain situation, and during her performances she would just stop for ages to listen to the crowd or whatever which also was not a great thing to do when so many people were feeling pretty shit. So after about half an hour or so me and two other friends left, and when we met back up with the others they said they kinda wished they came with us.
Normally what had happened during the weekend was that when the acts came on stage my aches and pains would just vanish, not sure why but this just did not happen with Beyonce.
But other than that her singing was flawless and she looked bloody beautiful and her dancing was obviously fab.

Other than the music there's loads of other things to do like 'My House' which is basically this house like building with dj's playing so it's just like a massive party, but there was a rumour that the second floor had fallen down? but not sure about that. There's also a silent disco, cocktail bars (I also heard another rumour that someone was stabbed at one? but again, not sure), a bubble lounge and loads of rides to go on and obviously you can just stay at your camp and chill if you so wish.

The food there is pretty good, okay prices and there was a pretty big variety of different stuff to have and a lot of places to get it from so like near your campsite etc.

THE LOO'S, not gonna lie, they were vile. I did see them cleaning them but it never really seemed to make a difference, they smelled really bad and there's mud all around them and the queues were always really long but I guess that's just the one thing you're gonna have to get over and forget about.

I personally am okay with camping, the others in my campsite were jokes and no one is afraid to mingle or anything. There was a running joke throughout the weekend where you'd hear someone shout 'ALAN' to which we'd all reply 'STEEEVEE', but it was hilarious when other people didn't get it and just started shouting random names like 'pete!'

All in all the weekend was AMAZING and I'll definitely be doing it again sometime, if you're someone who's good in really packed crowds and okay with moving around a lot, standing for ages, camping and obviously a music lover then you'd love it too!

Also going on people's shoulders during performances is fab, defo do that if you can.
